Stephen is almost 2 now. His birthday is September 2. He has all the
normal developments with the exception of speech. He is speech delayed,
which is normal for preemies. We have started speech therapy with the
same lady that did the triplets, and Stephen is making progress. The trips
didn't have any "issues" we needed to work around, but Stephen does.
His facial muscles are not working the way they need to for his mouth and
tongue to make the shapes needed for different sounds. When we started
3 months ago, the only sound he could make was "uh". Now he can say
"b", "ow", "up", and almost says down.. it sounds more like "dow" though. :)
He's coming along and will be talking in no time. I've wondered if Anna
will talk before he does and give him some competition. We'll have to see!
